micro1 is engaging Accountant / Auditors to contribute to a customer's project focusing on rigorous financial oversight and compliance. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. This opportunity is ideal for finance professionals with a strong background in financial reporting, auditing, and tax compliance, who are eager to impact cutting-edge technology with their practical expertise.


Scope of Work

  1. Review and evaluate financial statements for accuracy and compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards.
  2. Develop and validate financial models using advanced Excel functions.
  3. Assess and document audit procedures and internal control frameworks.
  4. Analyze tax compliance documentation and ensure alignment with relevant regulations.
  5. Prepare detailed written reports summarizing findings and recommendations based on provided financial data.
  6. Contribute real-world scenarios and case studies to inform the development and training of AI models.
  7. Provide concise, constructive feedback on financial documentation and reporting best practices.


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in financial reporting, audit, or tax compliance roles.
  2. Deep understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and international financial reporting requirements.
  3. Expert proficiency with Excel, including financial modeling and advanced analytical functions.
  4. Proven track record conducting audits and preparing audit documentation for diverse business entities.
  5. Demonstrated ability to articulate complex financial concepts in clear, well-structured written and verbal formats.
  6. Experience contributing to process improvements or technology-driven finance projects is a plus.
  7. Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly valued.

How big is the remote / hybrid opportunity?

Remote work is already huge — but the bigger story may be the hundreds of millions of jobs that could still move beyond geography.

Remote work already connects millions of people with companies they would never have been able to work for a decade ago. But compared with the size of the global labour market, it may still be early.

The interesting number is not only how many people work remotely today — it is how many roles could plausibly become remote or hybrid next.

The chart above starts with roughly 3.3 billion people employed worldwide. Around 300 million jobs are already remote or hybrid, while an additional pool of roughly 250 million roles could potentially move in that direction as technology, workflows and company culture continue to change.

Skills are becoming more portable

This matters because more work can increasingly be matched to expertise rather than location. AI training and evaluation are a good example: companies need lawyers, engineers, designers, editors, researchers, finance professionals and many other specialists to help improve AI systems.

For workers, that creates access to projects outside their local market. For companies, it expands the talent pool from one city or country to the world.
